Frankfurter Buchmesse

That's the annual Frankfurt Book Fair.

It's the largest and oldest book convention in the world.

They have been holding it for, oh, about 500 years!   Seriously.  Here is the catalogue
from 1573!

Gutenburg lived and worked next door in Mainz and that's where the books were first printed so it makes sense.

Sadly, the people we were with didn't have the time to stay, but we spent a fun hour browsing, and taking photos of teenagers in costume.

 Just like ComicCon.  Well, almost.
We saw people representing Fairytale, Inuyasha, Pokeman, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Code Geass, Captain Jack Sparrow, Off (game) Zacharie, Ellen Lied, and misc. Steampunk, Harry Potter, and Disney characters. (those will mean something to some of our kids)

Next year, the book fair will be from 8-14 October.
That is about the last week of our mission, but you'd all be welcome to come.
